How do you feel about owners using their dogs to fight? (pitbulls and other similar breeds used)
I think it’s wrong to punish the dogs when it’s their owners who are at fault. And if they take away all the pitbulls in the wrold, those people will just use other dogs. Soon it’ll be collies and beagles fighting for their lives. Every day I walk home I pass 4 or 5 gates with dogs in them. One i stop at is a house that has three pugs. I love them and they give me kisses and everything. One house has a black lab who is so friendly and he’ll lick your face off. And then I pass a gate that has barbed wire around it and a cover so you can’t see, but he gets to the side and you can see a pitbull. He puts up a tough front. Poor thing was probably taught to hate people. That is so WRONG! Any suggestions on what you would do in this situation?
The people who fight dogs deserve to be shot (Same thing with people who run puppy mills). I’ve met several pits and pit mixes at the shelter I volunteer at and the only one I don’t like is a hound pit mix and even that one the only reason I don’t like it is the fact it’s ripped the leash out of my hands twice already and even that is the hound part of him wanting to smell everything.
Also I’d call your local ASPCA.
The main reason people fight Pits is because they’re so strong and can deal with a lot of pain. It has absolutely nothing to do with their personalities at all. .
